Ira lives and works in Berlin. During her residency she plans to focus on listening to the nature of lutruwita (Tasmania) — attuning to its unique soundscapes through the practice of deep listening.
“I will conduct field recordings in forested and remote natural areas, capturing the subtle and dynamic acoustic environments of this landscape. These recordings will become integral to my compositional process, allowing me to create works that reflect both the ecological richness and the enduring Indigenous presence of lutruwita (Tasmania), alongside the transformative act of listening as an artistic practice.”
