Thalia is a single parent artist from Yaegl Country (Maclean, NSW). Her works explore the reflection of oneself in nature and the continuum of life. Her main medium is watercolour, however she also expresses herself using printing techniques and has recently been learning ceramics.

"My intention for this residency is to dive into some larger pieces, away from the distractions of everyday life. I am working on a collection of dead insects, in an effort to portray the beauty in death and it's calling to live authentically. I work from life, drawing insects which I have found. My process involves a repetitive stippling component which facilitates spiritual contemplation. Each insect presents a specific aspect of death which is revealed to me in meditation."
