Jo is based in London and works as a sound and music recordist for national radio, writes about women composers as a music journalist for The Wire experimental music journal, makes experimental music from recordings of urban, natural and random objects and synthesised spoken words, has a PhD in electroacoustic music and thinks a lot about Palestine and its people. She will be spending time on the residency thinking about sound and music, recording the local dawn chorus, if I she get over my fear of snakes, spiders and Tasmanian devils. She prefers recording at dawn because the rest of the day fills up with the sounds of humans, which are also interesting but all-invasive.
